Customer Experience Specialist

Please note - the hours/days for this role are 9:00-5:00 (PST) Wednesday through Sunday.  Saturday and Sunday you are able to work remotely. 

 

ChefSteps is looking for a Customer Experience Specialist with exceptionally strong communication and writing skills. This person must have a deep appreciation for hospitality in business and be ready to represent our company in any situation. You:

The customer experience specialist will help grow our customer experience team under the guidance of our customer experience director by collaborating with our social media, content, and product teams. You will communicate to our customers about our products, answer culinary questions, and more, with a focus on providing and cultivating above-and-beyond interactions that impress and delight the rapidly growing ChefSteps customer base. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for hospitality, a generous and friendly spirit, and a great sense of humor. You must be able to work quickly in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and have excellent judgment: you know the right questions to ask, and you can get the answers quickly without getting bogged down in overly complex analyses. You possess an appreciation and knowledge of food, cooking, and food media, and you’re excited to be immersed in a world of high-quality cooking content.

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1–2 years of customer service experience in ecommerce, retail, or hospitality industries; deep knowledge of hospitality in business
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. You pride yourself on accurate and thorough execution.
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, and proofreading skills and the ability to assume a brand personality
  • Ability to learn new customer service interaction tools quickly and easily
  • Experience responding to customers on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Ability to build rapport and productive relationships with customers. You know how to turn an unhappy customer into a lifelong promoter.
  • High degree of comfort navigating software applications; ability to learn quickly. You should be proficient with spreadsheets and, ideally, familiar with inventory and order-fulfillment systems.
  • Excellent judgment, demonstrated by experience resolving situations in the best interests of both the customer and the company

  • A love of food and cooking
  • Hospitality experience or knowledge of the hospitality industry
